FLORA, IL-(Effingham Radio)- In recognition of the vital role that environmental service workers play, CCH recognizes their Environmental Services Department during the week of Sept 9th–15th 2018 in the National Healthcare Environmental Services Week.
CCH’s team is responsible for caring for the patient environment across all care settings; including our hospital, medical clinics, and training center.
April Utley, Clay County Hospital’s Environmental Services Manager explains “in a healthcare environment, harmful or pathogenic microorganisms must be reduced or killed in order to protect and ensure the well-being of patients, staff and visitors. Disinfection, sanitizing and decontaminating surfaces, whether they are found in the isolation room, operating room, patient room or elsewhere within our facility, can be challenging. Our department plays an essential role in providing a clean and safe environment for all through infection prevention and control practices. I want to take a moment to thank my staff for everything they do”!
