Benjamin Yount, Metro Networks Springfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Illinois may raise the age to buy cigarettes or other tobacco products after all.
The Illinois House voted again yesterday to raise the age to buy tobacco to 21-years-old.
A vote on the same plan failed Tuesday night.
Opponents say the proposed law only applies to buying tobacco products; they point out that the legislation actually removes penalties for anyone under 21 caught using the products.
Opponents say that includes younger teens.
