EFFINGHAM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Central Illinois could see near record warmth today.
According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, highs today are expected to reach into the mid 90’s with heat index values in the mid to upper 90’s.
Temperatures are then expected to trend lower slightly for Tuesday and significantly on Wednesday with highs in the lower 80’s.
Additionally, there is a slight chance for afternoon thunderstorms today.
As remnants of the tropical storm system tracks northwards, heavy rain will be possible over portions on Illinois Tuesday night into Wednesday.
