OLNEY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Two people were injured in an accident that occurred in Olney on Monday afternoon.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on Route 130 at Grove Street at 4:53pm.
The report states that a tow truck driven by 37 year old, Josh Womack, of Olney was traveling northbound on Route 130.
Womack’s tow truck swerved into the southbound lane and center turn lane and sideswiped two vehicles.
These are a semi driven by 66 year old, Petar S Soltariev, of Streamwood, and a vehicle driven by 87 year old, Jesse J Cox, of Olney.
The Womack vehicle then continued on and was stopped later near the intersection of North Avenue and Fair Street.
Womack told authorities that he had blacked out due to a medical issue and regained awareness near the spot he was stopped by Olney Police.
Cox and his passenger, 85 year old, June R Cox, of Olney were taken to Richland Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Womack was cited for violation of classification, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
