An Altamont man was injured in a Moccasin Township accident that occurred on Friday morning.
According to a press release from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred on 300th Street, approximately 4/10 of a mile south of 1500th Avenue, at 5:00am. The report stated that 48 year old, Troy A Stuckemeyer, of Altamont was traveling southbound on 300th street when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then traveled off the east side of the roadway, struck a guardrail north of a bridge, and became airborne. The vehicle crossed a creek while in the air and struck the embankment south of the creek.
Stuckemeyer was taken to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was cited for improper lane usage and driving too fast for conditions.
