- Ernest E Collier, 25, of Kansas City, MO was arrested by Illinois State Police for driving with a suspended license, and speeding. Collier posted $150.
- Edna G Bell, 44, of Mattoon received mittimus, and was sentenced by Effingham County Sheriff’s Department to 2 days for driving under the influence of alcohol. Bell is in jail.
- Heidi M Hood, 27, of Effingham was sentenced by Effingham County Sheriff’s Department to 2 years IDOC. Hood is in jail.
- Wyatt T Hodgkin, 21, of Effingham was arrested by Effingham Police Department for failure to appear in an original warrant in Vermillion County for driving under the influence of drugs. Hodgkin was released Vermillion County would not extradite.
- Alicia M Kessler, 24, of Effingham was arrested by Effingham Police Department for driving with a suspended license, and possession of cannabis. Kessler posted $150.
- Hannah M Shearer, 25, of St, Elmo was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on an original warrant in Effingham County for possession of a controlled substance, and failure to appear on an original warrant in Macon County for possession of a controlled substance . Shearer is in jail.
- Misty D Baker, 33, of Neoga was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on an original warrant in Effingham County for possession of a controlled substance. Baker is in jail.
Mattoon Police Department
January 2, 2018
- Mattoon Police, with the assistance of the East Central Illinois Drug Task Force, arrested Zachery M. Riley, 23 of Mattoon, for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Armed Violence. The arrest occurred on 1/2/18 in the 1400 block of Broadway in Mattoon. The charges allege Mr. Riley was a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop who fled on foot, however was soon located and found to be in possession of Methamphetamine during that time. The charges also allege Mr. Riley was in possession of a semi-automatic handgun during that time, and had possession of the firearm while being a convicted felon. Due to the amount of Methamphetamine Mr. Riley was alleged to have possession of, the charges were elevated to intent to deliver. Also, since Mr. Riley was alleged to be in possession of the firearm and the Methamphetamine at the same time, he was also charged with the offense of Armed Violence. Mr. Riley was taken to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center.
