Two teenagers from Kentucky were injured in an accident that occurred in St Francis Township.
According to a press release from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred on November 18th at 1:00pm. A vehicle being driven by 18 year old, Kayleigh L Wease, of Big Clifty, Kentucky was traveling eastbound on Route 40. Wease then lost control of the vehicle, crossed the opposite lane, and struck a ditch embankment. Two of Wease’s passengers, 17 year old, Brian L Gabbert, of Vine Grove, Kentucky and 17 year old, Damien N Criss, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky were injured in the accident and were taken to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Kayleigh Wease was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.
