Effingham, Il – The University of Illinois Extension and Effingham County Chamber of Commerce are hosting an Introduction to PublicOffice seminar on Thursday, November 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Effingham County Office Building in the 1st Floor Education Room.
The session is the first of a series being planned to educate elected officials and those who are considering a run for public office at any level.
With the filing period coming up soon for the Spring 2018 Elections, now is the perfect time to talk about two key factors in a campaign for public office: Filing and Finance.
Effingham County Clerk Kerry Hirtzel will talk about the proper procedures for filing petitions for office and Effingham County States Attorney Bryan Kibler will address campaign finance rules and regulations.
This one hour session is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
