United Way of Effingham County exceeded their fundraising goal for their 2016 campaign raising $360,036. The 2016 campaign officially concluded on Tuesday. United Way supports 23 local partner agencies in Effingham County.
Several area businesses were commended at United Way’s Annual meeting earlier this week with Spirit of Caring Awards. The awards recognize organizations that went above and beyond in helping to improve the community. Patterson Technologies was recognized as the “Lead Pacesetter.” Imagine This! Marketing Group was named the 2016 Outstanding Volunteer for their help in creating United Way’s website and Facebook Page.
Stevens Industries was named 2016 Outstanding Organization based on their support throughout the year. Stevens Industries raised $25,000 in the 2016 Campaign. Ross Richardson was named the 2016 Outstanding Board Member. Richardson joined the board in 2008 representing HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. He has served on every United Way committee during his tenure and continues to be a leader in the organization. This is his third time being recognized as Outstanding Board Member.
