The Cardinals took the lead back in the third on a Piscotty RBI single. The Cardinals took a 3-1 lead in the fourth on a Grichuk solo home run. The Cardinals added two more runs in the fifth on a Piscotty two run home run to make it 5-1. The Cardinals added two more run in the seventh on a Peralta RBI triple and a Garcia RBI single to make it 7-1. The Cardinals added another run in the eighth on a Molina RBI single to make it 8-1.
Martinez got the win improving to 12-7 on the season. Martinez gave up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking 3 over 8 innings. DeGroom took the loss falling to 7-7 on the year. DeGroom gave up 5 runs on 12 hits while striking out 3 and walking 2 over 4 and 2/3 innings.
