Mattoon, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Lake Land College recently held its annual Business and Computer Contest, welcoming students from 17 local high schools to demonstrate their software skills.
During the event, students competed in a series of contests covering Accounting, Computer Concepts, General Business and Current Events, MOS Excel, MOS PowerPoint and MOS Word. First place winners of each contest received a 3-credit-hour tuition waiver to Lake Land College.
The event also included a team competition, with Monticello High School placing first among all participating schools.
The full list of high schools that competed in the Business and Computer Contest were Altamont, Centralia, Champaign Centennial, Champaign Central, Charleston, Dieterich, Effingham, Flora, Monticello, Mt. Zion, Paris, Shiloh, Shelbyville, South Central, Stewardson-Strasburg, Teutopolis and Windsor High Schools.
“This event is always a special opportunity to welcome students to campus and celebrate their unique talents,” said Marcy Satterwhite, Business Instructor and Coordinator of Graphic Design Programs. “It’s also a great chance for the students to experience the programs and resources we have to offer here at Lake Land as they begin to make plans for their futures.”
