ALTAMONT, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Three men were arrested by the Altamont Police Department after they were found to be in possession of between $750,000 and $1,000,000 in cannabis.
According to Altamont Police Chief, Alan Heiens, the men were stopped for a traffic violation on Monday, May 7th.
Upon further investigation, 264 pounds of marijuana were discovered.
According to Chief Heiens, the marijuana has a street value of between $750,000 and $1,000,000.
The three men were taken into custody by the Altamont Police Department for possession of over 5,000 grams of cannabis and cannabis trafficking.
They were identified as 22 year olds Tyrell Jones, of Chesapeake, Virginia, Joseph Allen Jr, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Jamil Taylor-Kamara, of Virginia Beach.
All three appeared in Effingham County Court on Tuesday for a bond hearing.
Their bonds were each set at $50,000.
All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
