EFFINGHAM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Sculpture on the Avenues program this year.
To commemorate the occasion, we invite the public to attend the unveiling of our 20th anniversary sculpture, created by Cobden artist and long-time participant in the program, Thomas Horn.
The unveiling will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 6 p.m.
That evening, we’ll help kick off the 13th annual Effingham Artisan Fair with a short ceremony at the corner of Jefferson Ave & Third Street in downtown Effingham.
You’ll hear from Sculpture on the Avenues founder, Former Mayor Bob Utz, Mayor Jeff Bloemker and Tourism Director Jodi Thoele as we unveil the 20th anniversary piece.
We also invite you to head over to the Effingham Public Library to see our indoor exhibition called “Circle of Life,” which will be on display in the Richard and Diane Siemer Family Vault for the month of May.
The library is open through the week from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Don’t forget to stop by our Effingham Visitor Center, City Hall, the Effingham Public Library or the Artisan Fair information table that evening for our brand new Culture Guide as you walk through beautiful downtown Effingham and check out the entire outdoor exhibition for 2018.
