TEUTOPOLIS, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Teutopolis High School Media Center, Teutopolis Junior High School Library and Teutopolis Grade School Library were recently awarded a “Back to Books” grant from the State of Illinois.
“Fudning for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library, a Department of the Office of the Secretary of State, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).”
The purpose of the grant is to purchase books that support the reading and research needs of children, youth and adults and to share these resources with other Illinois library patrons through interlibrary loan.
The grant proposal was written by Amy Nice, Unit 50 District Media Specialist, and Toni Hawley, THS Library Aide, and is entitled “Non-Fiction for ALL.”
A multitude of non-fiction titles will be purchased with the $3,000.
These materials will greatly enhance Unit 50 library collections in addressing the Common Core Standards, as well as being made readily available for interlibrary loan.
