Effingham, Ill. – Earlier today we received reports of a vehicle on fire on I-57 near mile marker 145.
At the time of the incident first responders where handling the situation as well as directing traffic.
Illinois state police confirmed that the traffic had been backed up for 5-6 miles, with only 1 lane open.
After the fire was extinguisehed, ISP opened both lanes back up to allow traffic flow.
There were no reported arrests or injuries, and we are still awaiting further details.
