Effingham, Ill. (Flora, Ill.) – Last Tuesday, the North Clay School Board met for a special meeting in the unit office located in Louisville.
The basis of the meeting revolved around two students who last month were involved in the alleged threats made towards the schools.
As reported by WNOI, “The Board stated both students had committed an act of gross misconduct as they both had involvement on February 28th, in a threat of violence planned against North Clay Schools.”
As of right now both students have been sent to an alternative program, and are required to abide by the guidelines to successfully complete their time there, if not students will be referred back to the district.
If that does occur, the board will opt to expel the students immediately, and the expulsion will remain in place until March 13th, 2020.
The district felt it was necessary to remove the two students involved because they considered it to be a safety issue to the schools.
