Effingham, Ill. (Macomb, IL) – Officials at Western Illinois University are trying to stay positive after another drop in enrollment.
The school last week said spring enrollment fell nine percent over last year. Just over 85 hundred students are on campus this spring, that’s down by about 900 from last year.
Western’s VP of Student Services Ron Williams said the school is facing many challenges including a smaller pool of high school graduates and Illinois’ continued problems with education funding.
