(Morrison, IL) — One of Illinois’ newest economic development zones is in northwestern Illinois. The Illinois Department of Commerce yesterday approved six new enterprise zones, Whiteside County and Carroll county are among them. The enterprise zone allows local governments to offer a variety of tax incentives for at least the next 15 years. In addition to northwestern Illinois, the state’s new enterprise zones will include another portion of Chicago, Douglas County, the city of Effingham and Effingham County, the Jersey-Green county intermodal area, and Massac County.
