(Springfield, IL) — Nearly two dozen Illinois Democrats want the state’s election authority to walk away from President Trump’s voter commission. Nineteen state lawmakers on Friday signed a letter to the Illinois State Board of Elections asking the agency to disengage with the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. The lawmakers are unhappy with the planned voter crosscheck system that they say could erase thousands of legal voters from the state’s voter registration rolls.
