- 40 year old, Derek J Mummel, of Mattoon was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on an Effingham County failure to appear warrant for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
- 44 year old, David W Weatherman, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on an Effingham County failure to appear warrant attachment for contempt. Weatherman posted $100 and was released.
September 5, 2017
- 27 year old, Whitney R Howell, of Altamont was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on an Effingham County failure to appear warrant for theft less than $300. Howell posted $575 and was released.

September 1, 2017
- At 2:19pm at the intersection of Fayette and Maple, a vehicle driven by 57 year old, David A Walsh, of Blue Mound struck a vehicle driven by 54 year old, Craig D Henderson, of Toledo. No injuries or citations were reported.
September 4, 2017
- At 3:18pm east of the intersection of Willow and Pembroke, a vehicle driven by 40 year old, Hollie M Kemme, of Teutopolis struck a deer. No injuries or citations were reported.

- 21 year old, Rachel C Habbe, of Effingham was cited for possession of between 10 to 30 grams of cannabis with intent to deliver.

- 17 year old, Brandt L Young, of Teutopolis was cited for speeding.

- 20 year old, Nicholas A Tkachuk, of Altamont was cited for expired registration.
- 23 year old, Chad M Percival, of Mattoon was cited for driving while under the influence.

Arrests
September 1, 2017
- 31 year old, Michael T Dery, of Neoga was arrested for violation of an order of protection. Dery allegedly contacted a female in violation of a court order. He was taken to jail.
September 2, 2017
- 63 year old, John K Kesler, of Mattoon was arrested for criminal trespass to a motor vehicle and battery. Kesler allegedly unlawfully entered another person’s vehicle and then shoved an individual. He was issued a notice to appear and was released. Kesler was arrested a second time that day for disorderly conduct and aggravated battery. He allegedly was intoxicated and began hitting and kicking a parked vehicle, before shoving another individual. He was taken to jail.
- 35 year old, Joe L Inboden, of Mattoon was arrested for public indecency. Inboden allegedly intentionally exposed himself to two juvenile girls outside of his home. He was taken to jail.
September 3, 2017
- 45 year old, Paul J Richey, of Mattoon was arrested for domestic battery. Richey allegedly battered a female, who was then treated for non-life threatening injuries. Richey was taken to jail.
- 39 year old, Gary M Hocutt, of Mattoon was arrested for domestic battery. Hocutt allegedly choked a female and threatened her with a knife. He was taken to jail.
