Washington Savings Bank has started offering a program for children called WSB Summertime CEO.
The program, which will run from May 22nd to July 31st, will allow children ages 6-12 the opportunity to run their own lemonade stand. Just like that of a real business, children will fill out an application and be interviewed at any of the Washington Savings Bank locations in Effingham or Mattoon. After being approved, the children will receive a kit that includes cups, a pitcher, lemonade mix, sanitizing wipes, a WSB Summertime CEO button, and $2 for start-up cash. Limit of one kit per family, while supplies last. An income statement will be included in the kit that the children will fill out and return to Washington Savings Bank. Once completed with the program by August 19th, the children will receive a certificate of their completion and will be featured on the WSB Summertime CEO Hall of Fame.
Allison Donsbach, a member of Washington Savings Bank’s marketing committee stated, “With the entrepreneurial spirit that the Effingham area has, we feel confident that this program will be a success. We’ve witnessed such great results from the CEO program and hope that the WSB Summertime CEO program will just add another layer to what Effingham County has to offer”.
