The Effingham Fire Department responded to a reportĀ of a truck that had driven into a trailer on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Effingham Fire Department, fire crews were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had driven into a mobile home in the area of the Four Seasons trailer park and Jaycee Avenue at 3:45pm. Upon the arrival of fire crews, they discovered a pickup truck that was partially inside of a mobile home. One resident was inside of the home at the time of the impact. The Effingham Police Department took the driver into custody after they were evaluated by EMS.
It was discovered that the impact of the crash caused the mobile home to be knocked off of its mounts, leaving it uninhabitable. Fire crews shut off power to the home at the meter, and Ameren shut off the power at the meter feed. Additionally, the Effingham Water Department shut off the water to the mobile home until the main water line could be repaired. The Effingham Fire Department cleared the scene at 5:03pm.
