The Cardinals were able to hold on and get the win against the Reds 3-2.
The Cardinals got on the board first with a solo home run by Carpenter in the first. The Cardinals added another run in the third on a Moss RBI double to take a 2-0 lead. The Reds got their first run on a Suárez solo home run in the fourth but Peralta hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 3-1. The Reds got a run in the top of the ninth when Suárez hit into a double play and Votto was able to score.
Garcia got the win improving to 9-8 on the season. Garcia gave up 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 4 and walking 1 over 8 innings. DeSclafani took the loss falling to 6-1 on the year. DeSclafani gave up 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 5 and walking 2 over 5 innings.
