After coaching St. Elmo volleyball for 20 year Coach Asher has decided to step away from coaching and taking her place will be former player and assistant coach Jeni Haslett.
Haslett has been an assistant coach under Asher for many years, helping make the transition easier.
Haslett has been coaching since she was in high school at St. Elmo. Haslett later became an assistant to Asher before taking over the program. Haslett is Asher’s niece, and Haslett’s sister, Gabi Moore, was on the St. Elmo volleyball team last year before graduating.
Asher took over the St. Elmo volleyball team in 1995. Asher led the team to winning records from 1999 thru last season. The team won 4 regional and 1 section title. St. Elmo volleyball has also won at least 20 games in each of the last 14 seasons.
Asher leaves with a career record of 432-269. St. Elmo/Brownstown finished last year at 22-13, losing to Clay City 24-26, 25-22, 25-20 in the regional final.
