A big six run first inning lead the Dodgers to a 9-6 win against the Cardinals.
The Dodgers got off to a hot start with 6 runs in the top of the first thanks to a González Grand Slam followed by a Kazmir two run single. The Cardinals scored a run in the bottom of the first on a Holliday RBI double to make it 6-1. The Dodgers added three runs in the second on a throwing error by Piscotty and a Kendrick two run home run to make it 9-1. The Cardinals came back with a run in the second on a Pham two run home run to make it 9-3. The Cardinals added three more runs on the seventh thanks to a Díaz sacrifice fly and a two run double by Piscotty to make it 9-6.
Kazmir got the win improving to 9-3 on the season. Kazmir gave up 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 3. Cardinals rookie pitcher Mike Mayers took the loss in his first career start. Mayers gave up 9 runs on 8 hits while striking out 1 and walking 2 over 1 and 1/3 innings.
