Eastern Illinois athletics has announced that it will broadcast its home football games on WEIU TV once again this fall. The Panthers will carry a minimum of four home games on the regional TV station with the possibility of a fifth game should the Ohio Valley Conference not select the Panthers November 5 game for its OVC Wildcard Game of the Week.
The five game schedule kicks off with the season opener on Thursday, September 1st as the Panthers host Western Illinois. Additional confirmed broadcasts include the September 24th game versus Austin Peay, October 8th game versus Tennessee State and October 22nd game versus Murray State. The Panthers November 5th game against UT Martin and will be carried by WEIU if not selected to be the ESPN3 OVC game that week.
The games will be simulcast on the OVC Digital Network, the league’s free digital online platform. In addition the OVC Digital Network will carry road OVC games at Southeast Missouri (Oct. 1), Tennessee Tech (Oct. 15), Jacksonville State (Oct. 29) and Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 19).
Already announced this season are road games to be televised at Miami of Ohio (on ESPN3) and Illinois State (on Comcast SportsNet Chicago). With the combination of the WEIU TV Package and the OVC Digital Network, all 11 EIU football games this season will be broadcast for Panther fans to watch.
