A rummage sale will be held at the New Life Christian Center in Newton from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday to benefit Jaxon Fear, a 3-year-old from Newton. Jaxon has Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, a condition that prevents him from using his hands. Luckily, Jaxon has a furry friend who can help, a service dog named Ability who be trained to perform routine tasks. But according to family friend Carol Kleinik, the specialized training required is expensive, so Jaxon’s parents, Jenny and Everett Fear, set out to raise the funds to help train Ability.
The training is expected to cost around $7000. According to Klienik, the sale will feature a large variety of donated items.
All proceeds from the sale will go to help pay for Ability to receive the specialized training she needs to help Jaxon with routine tasks. The New Life Christain Center is located at 705 W. Jourdan Street in Newton.
