The National Weather Service has confirmed three tornadoes in downstate Illinois from Wednesday’s storms. A tornado touched down 2 miles southwest of Altamont in Effingham County just before 7:00pm. That was in addition to funnel clouds seen moving through Fayette County, in the Brownstown and St. Elmo areas. There was also a confirmed tornado touchdown in Raymond in Montgomery County and 2 miles north of Olney in Richland County.
