South Central FS hosted a Propane Autogas Summit Tuesday at the Effingham KC Hall. Autogas is the term used for propane when it is used to fuel vehicles.
The Summit was attended by representatives from local businesses, school district officials, and local government officials. Those in attendance learned about the benefits of using propane to fuel vehicles. School buses, police cars, and agriculture vehicles are among those that can be modified for propane fueling. The benefits spoke of at the event included being environmentally friendly, a cleaner fuel for the vehicle, and lower costs. An additional benefit discussed is that propane is produced domestically, with 90% of the propane used in the United States being produced in the United states.
The Autogas Summit also featured a propane demonstration using various vehicles.
