St. Elmo Labor Day Weekend Events include
Friday, August 31
- 7:00 pm - Junior Mayor Contest-Open to any child between 8 and 10 years old in the Saint Elmo School district. Sign up forms will be available at Daryl's Dine In, St, Elmo Library, T & J Food Mart, and Mary Ann's. No entry fee will be charged. Registration will be open through August 26
Saturday, September 1
- 7:30 am - Haley Wilhour Memorial 5K run - Registration from 7:30 - 8:00 am. The race starts at 8:00 am. $20 entry fee, with net proceeds being donated to the family of Haley Wilhour
- 7 am - 12 pm - Trunk sale at St Elmo Community Park. Spots available on a first come first served basis $5/car, $10/Pavilion. Contact Kimberly Baron at 618-231-2413 for pavilion rental. Only 2 available.
- 7 am - 12 pm - Bake sale in the Centennial Building. Donations accepted Friday 6 to 8 pm and Saturday Morning.
- 8 am - Citywide Garage Sales
- 1 pm - Chili cook-off in the Centennial Building. Sign up begins at 12:30. $10 entry fee. For more information call or text Kimberly Baron 618-231-2413
- 4 pm. - Corn Hole Tournament (Adults Only) Team sign up the day of the event until 3 pm in the Centennial Building $10 entry fee per team.
- 7:30 pm. - Free Outdoor Family Movie at the Park. Concessions open at 7:30, Movie will start at dusk.
Sunday, September 2
- 6:00 pm - Gospel sing at St. Elmo Christan Church - Fourgiven Quartet
Monday, September 3
- 6 - 9:30 am - Pancake breakfast at the firehouse
- 10:30 am - Parade begins. Line up at the high school at 9:00 am. Route: Parade South on Walnut, West on Third to the park. $5 entry fee day of the parade. Entry forms can be found online at www.ityofstelmo.com
- 12 pm. - Events, games and concession booths open in the park on W 3rd Street
- 12:30 - Play: An Abbreviated History of St. Elmo
- 1 pm. - Parade Winners announced by the Lion's Club
- 1 to 5 pm. - SEBA Bingo in front of Centennial Building on 3rd St
- 1:10 pm - Saint Elmo Story Tellers Q and A -- Come armed with questions about the history of our hometown
- 2 pm. - Water fights sponsored by the Saint Elmo Fire Department
- 5 pm. - Space Camp Council will perform
- 5 pm - Lion's Club Cake Walk
- 6 pm. - 50/50 Drawing Winner and Citizen of the Year Announcements
- 6 - 8 pm. - Soul Riot will perform
