Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham Sunrise Rotary Club recently welcomed Bob Gillespie with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, who shared an inside look at Prairie Ridge State Natural Area near Newton and its nearly 5,000 acres of managed grassland. Gillespie discussed the area’s work to protect the Greater Prairie-Chicken while providing important habitat for a wide variety of Illinois wildlife.
