
Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Teutopolis Unit 50 board members approved the fiscal year 2026 amended budget Monday after holding a budget amendment hearing. They also approved treasurer’s reports, payment of bills, insurance renewals, meeting minutes, and an overnight Teutopolis High School band trip to Nashville in April 2027.
The board spent significant time on long-term facility planning, especially possible renovations at Teutopolis Grade School. Superintendent Matt Sturgeon reviewed feedback from parents, staff, alumni, and community members, along with design concepts, 3D renderings, district reserves, and financing scenarios from Stifel. No referendum decision was made, but draft ballot language will be reviewed in July.
The Board accepted a letter of resignation from:
- Kelli Wells as TJHS Scholar Bowl
- Laurie Thompson as THS Girls Basketball
- Toby Isley as TJHS Girls Track-8th Grade
- Rachel Habing as TJHS Girls Track-7th Grade
The Board approved the hire of the following for 2026-27 contingent upon their successful completion of background investigation, employment history review and verification/completion
of necessary licensure for the position:
- Kara Probst as TJHS Co-Student Counsel Sponsor
- Nicole Vineyard as TJHS Yearbook
- Austin Johnson as TJHS Asst Boys Basketball
- Katelyn Jansen as THS Asst. Volleyball
- Three THS Lunch Room Student Workers
