Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- At its May 11 meeting, the Teutopolis Unit 50 Board of Education approved Treasurer’s Reports and payment of bills. The consent agenda passed, allowing renewal of the Illinois Association of School Boards membership, approval of April meeting minutes, a second reading of policy updates, and an enrollment request under an ISBE waiver for 2026-27. The Board also moved forward with a tentative FY2026 budget amendment, set for public display for at least 30 days, and scheduled a hearing for June 15 before the regular meeting.
Facility updates were shared by building principals and the Athletics/Activities Director, covering upcoming renovations and maintenance: cleaning and resealing gym floors, improvements in the welding lab, new digital displays in the high school gym, permanent soccer goal installation, and parking lot striping.
Discussions continue with the Village on tax increment financing. Brendan Niebruggee stepped down as Junior High Assistant Basketball Coach but remains a volunteer. The Board also welcomed three new hires: Natalie Borries, Audrey Runde, and Robin Imprugia.
The next regular meeting is June 15 at 6 p.m.
