Springfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On March 24th, nine members of the South Central FFA Chapter attended Ag Legislative Day at the State Capital in Springfield. During the event, they got the opportunity to meet and converse with local representatives and senators, such as Representative Blaine Wilhour, and Senator Jason Plummer.

The day was filled with support and the importance of the Agriculture Industry was highlighted by the presence of other FFA and Agriculture industry leaders.
While at the capital, the South Central Members were taken on a tour of the entire capit0l building and a few of the specific offices there such as the Secretary of State’s office and the office of the Lieutenant Governor.

After the tour, FFA members helped to distribute lunches and gift baskets filled with Illinois Commodities to legislators and their staff. The day was an opportunity for members to meet their State legislators and learn more about how the government works.
