Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Effingham’s City Plan Commission has recommended changes to local zoning rules concerning short-term vacation rentals.
The proposal would allow up to four such properties in residential zones, and two in non-urban areas, but excludes R-1 and R-2 properties. Each application would undergo individual review. The City Council will make the final determination on the amendment.
In other decisions, the Commission approved the site plan for a new coffee shop at 1313 North Keller Drive, which involves replacing the former Local restaurant building. Recommendations also include approvals for the Yager and Niemerg OBW Commercial Subdivisions in north Effingham.
