Thomas D. Arganbright, 73 of Effingham, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial to follow in the Windsor Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the service, Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Tom was born June 30, 1952 in Shelbyville, the son of Dwight and Gene (Hopkins) Arganbright. He was a proud graduate of Windsor High School, Lakeland College, and Eastern Illinois University. Tom dedicated more than 35 years of service to Quad Graphics, where he built many lasting friendships throughout his career. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially spending time gardening, caring for his dog, Max, and being around horses. Tom enjoyed country western dancing, as well as purple martin birding. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served six years on a nuclear submarine. Tom was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham and will be remembered as a caring and helpful person who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Tom is survived by his sister, Esther (Fred) Dickmann of Altamont, and his special friend, Sandy Althoff of Effingham. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
