
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Effingham County Board has finalized a new three-year agreement with sheriff’s office employees, granting annual raises of 3% for the first two years and 3.5% in the third. The decision came during Tuesday’s board meeting, with two members absent and one abstaining from the vote. Sheriff Paul Kuhns expressed support for the pay increases, noting their importance for staff retention and morale.
Also, addressing concerns previously raised by County Democrat Chairman Pat Lewis about racism, Board Chairman Josh Douthit spoke on record, emphasizing the board’s firm opposition to racism and bigotry in all forms.
The County Board also:
