Charles Smith Jr., 60 of Olney, passed away on January 28, 2026, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital. Charles was born on June12, 1965, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, the son of Charles and Vivian (Drews) Smith.
No services will be held per his wishes. Arrangements are under the care of Meyer Funeral Home in Olney.
Charles worked at Richland Care and Rehab AKA Burgin Manor for 30 years in the maintenance department. Charles was a super funny man with the ability to make people laugh. He was a wonderful musician and had the ability to play several instruments including the piano, keyboard, banjo and several others, but he especially loved playing the guitar. He was a proficient artist using several different media, but loved photograph, drawing and painting.
Charles is survived by his partner of 19 years Melissa Kibler of Olney, Illinois, daughters Abigail Deaton of Paris Illinois, Nerissa Rose of Olney, Illinois, grandchildren Wyatt, Isaac, Dominik, Ollie, and Kolby, brothers Rick (Carolyn) Wallis of Liberty, Missouri, Roger (Patty) Smith of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and Jeffrey Smith of Murphysboro, Illinois.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother Karl Smith.
