Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Effingham Unit 40 school board members reviewed a new artificial intelligence support plan this week, aiming to enrich learning for students and staff alike. The district’s approach avoids a blanket policy, instead tailoring AI integration to fit various grade levels.
Younger students will explore AI basics with teacher guidance, while older students will experience more customized, content-specific uses of the technology. Stephanie Mitchell, Director of Innovation and Instructional Technology, emphasized careful rollout and planning.
The meeting also featured a presentation on Central Grade School’s improvements in student behavior and test performance, and celebrated state scholar honorees and the junior high boys cross country team.
The Board also announced their recent personnel moves.
