Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- The Trump administration is announcing new lower Medicare prices for 15 drugs.
The cost reduction was part of the latest round in the Medicare drug price negotiation program established in the Biden-era Inflation Reduction Act. Widely used cancer and diabetes drugs, inhalers, and GLP-1 medications were included in this round of negotiations and they are the drugs Medicare spends the most on.
The negotiated prices are what the government pays, not what patients pay out-of-pocket, and it is set to save a total of 12-billion-dollars compared to last year’s spending.
