
Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- During the recent Teutopolis school board meeting, members heard a public comment from Gina Garcia before moving to approve the Treasurer’s Reports and Payment of Bills. Consent agenda items received unanimous approval, covering the October 20 meeting minutes, publication of the Annual Statement of Affairs, contract renewals for pest control services for 2025-26, and a natural gas supplier contract extending through 2030. The board also conducted the first reading of an updated policy, Board Policy Update 120.
A tentative tax levy was adopted, with a Truth in Taxation Hearing set for December 15 at 6 pm. Reports presented included updates from building principals, the activities and athletics director, and the superintendent. Key topics featured a review of the School Report Card, plans for a January teacher institute, and upcoming improvements in district communications, such as a new microsite and features highlighting board initiatives.
In personnel matters, the board accepted resignations from Sue Mills, who will continue volunteering with 7th grade volleyball, and Salina Vahling in junior high track. Pending background checks and licensing, Tiffanee Hartke was approved as THS Softball Assistant, and hours for TJHS paraprofessionals were slightly increased for the next two years.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for December 15.
