Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Changes are coming to the accessibility of the online gaming platform Roblox. Under a new requirement, Roblox users who want to chat will soon have to verify their age by providing a government ID or by letting an artificial intelligence age estimation tool photograph their face.
The move comes as the platform faces lawsuits claiming it has enabled sexual predators to connect with children after reports of abuse and in some cases even kidnappings by adults they met on Roblox. Roblox said the updated policy will make it easier to prevent young users from connecting with adult strangers as all users will be required to verify their age before accessing chat features.
