
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Chrysler is recalling hundreds of thousands of Jeep plug-in hybrid SUVs due to the risk of battery fires.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall applies to 228-thousand-221 Jeep Wranglers with model years 2020 to 2025 and 91-thousand-844 Jeep Grand Cherokees with model years 2022 to 2026. According to Stellantis, it is aware of at least 19 reports and one injury related to the recall.
As a remedy is being developed, the NHTSA advises owners “to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed.”
