FDA Expands Cinnamon Recall

Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The FDA is expanding an existing cinnamon recall.

According to an FDA update, ground cinnamon from HAETAE, Roshni, Durra and Wise Wife have joined a dozen other brands that “may be unsafe” to consume due to the possibility of elevated lead levels. An investigation is underway after elevated lead levels were discovered during state product testing, and the results were then verified by the FDA.

As of September, no “illnesses or adverse events” had been reported, but customers are encouraged to refrain from purchasing and consuming the recalled products.
