Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Health & Insurance Committee held their monthly meeting Tuesday and discussed funding for the Southern Illinois Drug Awareness Conference (SIDAC).
SIDAC is requesting funding for their meeting coming up on March 13 to help more people attend. The funding will help the cost of admittance. The Committee didn’t know if it could get the funding to them that quickly, but said if the funding cannot be made available for this year’s conference, the funds would be directed to next year’s conference. The amount approved was for $2k.
The Committee also heard about the continuing opioid problems locally, received an update from HopeTrust, and the Effingham County Health Department status on state grants, and their budget. HopeTrust looked to clear up any misunderstandings, and gave contact information to the Committee.
