
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The meeting for the Effingham 2050 Comprehensive Plan was held Thursday in the City Council Chambers, with lots of local leaders present.
City Commissioners Libby Moeller and Larry Micenheimer were in attendance, as well as Public Works Director Jeremy Heuerman, Assistant City Administrator Dennis Presley, City Engineer Luke Thoele, Economic Development Director Todd Hull, As well as Dr. Ruben Boyadjin, and lots of local business leaders and local residents. The focus of this meeting was Downtown Effingham.
Parking was a chief concern, especially with the growth City officials are wanting and anticipating. A parki9ng garage was one proposed solution, but the location will be the tricky part. Public transportation was also discussed, including more parking spaces and sprucing up the buses. Improved wifi and internet access throughout the city was also discussed.
These Comprehensive Plan meetings take place every two weeks and the public is invited to attend and participate in the process.
