Cumberland Falls In Season Opener 39-31

The Cumberland offense just couldn’t get going at the Cumberland Thanksgiving Tournament as they fell to North Clay 39-31.

Cumberland took an early 1-0 lead but North Clay went on an 8-0 run and led after the first quarter 10-5. North Clay would increase their lead in the second quarter as North Clay led 20-11 at the half. North Clay would come out strong in the third quarter, outscoring Cumberland 14-10. Cumberland got the lead down to 8 in the 4th quarter but that was the closest the Pirates would come.

Cumberland with led by Grady Jones who had 9 points.

Cumberland will now be on the loser side of the bracket and will take on Vandalia Friday at 4:30. That game can be heard on WCRA.
