Dieterich, IL-(Effingham Radio)- One person was injured in an accident that occurred in Dieterich last week.
According to a report from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred on Wednesday, November 23rd at 11:32am at the intersection of North Main Street and Fayette Road.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 65 year old, Gerald A Vogt, of Sigel was traveling eastbound on Fayette Road at North Main.
Vogt was turning left in-between stopped motor vehicles that were traveling south on Main Street.
As Vogt attempted to turn left, he emerged from the row of vehicles into the northbound lane of North Main Street.
At the same time, a vehicle driven by 24 year old, John Speiser, of Bourbonnais was traveling north on Main Street when his vehicle collided with Vogt’s vehicle.
Speiser’s vehicle left the roadway to the east and came to a rest in a yard beside a residence.
Speiser was transported to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for an incapacitating injury.
