Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Warns Of Scam About Jury Duty

Shelby County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- From the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page:

There is a scam going around. The scammer is saying that you need to appear at the Shelby County Courthouse for Jury duty or you will be arrested. They are saying if you pay money to them, then this will alleviate you having to show up or being arrested. This is a scam.

The Shelby County Courthouse does not require you to pay anything to be a juror. As always, never send money to anyone that you don’t know and always double check anything suspicious. If you ever have any questions, please contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at 217-774-3941.
