The City of Effingham will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 4:45 p.m., at City Hall located at 201 E. Jefferson Ave., Effingham, IL 62401 to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federally funded Pedestrian Bridge Project.
The project consists of construction of a Pedestrian Bridge over Interstates 57 and 70 and accommodating sidewalks to provide a safe designated route for pedestrian traffic, connecting residents and visitors to lodging, shopping, restaurants, and residential areas located on the North side of said Interstates to the sports complex, parks, and residential areas located on the South side of said Interstates. The project area commences at east end of Ford Avenue, over Interstates 57 and 70 and terminated at the Richard E. Workman Sports and Wellness Complex.
The City of Effingham intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Transportation for a grant from the Cycle 15 Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program.
